“coming months the conditions for a dignified peace will be brought closer either by force or by diplomacy”
Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, said Sunday that his forces are still holding the eastern town of Kostyantynivka, despite Russia’s claim to have seized it. He warned that Moscow is preparing major new attacks ahead of this week’s NATO summit in Turkey, where he is expected to meet U.S. President Donald Trump. Zelensky also noted that Ukraine’s own strikes inside Russia have been effective, particularly on oil infrastructure. The remarks came as the nearly 4.5‑year war, Europe’s deadliest since World War II, grinds on. Zelensky stated that Kyiv has presented its terms and expects that over the next several months the path to a dignified peace will be advanced through either military action or negotiations.
