Donald Trump asks wife "Are you sure they don't have that?" about women's health order

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday establishing a women’s health division at the National Institutes of Health and a White House task force, an effort pushed by first lady Melania Trump. The Rose Garden signing preceded the panel’s first meeting; White House chief of staff Susie Wiles and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are to lead the group, and the order sets no specific funding targets. It directs attention to maternal and mental health, endometriosis, Alzheimer’s, osteoporosis, heart disease and stroke. After his remarks, Trump voiced surprise that some parts of the order were not already in effect and told the audience he had questioned his wife about the matter. The ceremony occurred with the Nov. 3 elections approaching and as his approval ratings, including among women, had declined.
