President Donald Trump on Thursday criticized LeBron James on Truth Social over a video that Trump said showed James moving during the national anthem before a Philadelphia 76ers game, and said James owed an apology to people who died for the flag and what the country represents. The footage shows James beside 76ers players stretching and mimicking shots before tipoff. The post followed James’s first game for Philadelphia on Tuesday, a 106-100 win over the New York Knicks in which the 41-year-old scored 14 points; Tyrese Maxey had 28 and Jalen Brunson 21 for New York. James told NBC afterward he was still adjusting to the new team. Trump has previously pressed NFL players over anthem protests in 2017.
