Mark Zuckerberg says "we double review before taking action" on accounts in New Mexico Meta case
“a list of accounts that we double review before taking action on them”

New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez sued Meta, and jurors concluded the company deceived users about how it handled private data and policed posts. A judge then set a $25 billion penalty, which Meta intends to challenge. At trial, state lawyers pointed to a September 2023 email in which CEO Mark Zuckerberg sought added staff attention for Joe Rogan’s account before any enforcement. Meta says that step was designed to avoid erroneous moderation; the state used it to argue the company did too little to enforce fact-checking. The proceedings also covered Facebook’s shift from outside fact-checkers to Community Notes. Meta’s chief legal officer argued the case would make operating in New Mexico impractical and amounted to a charge on expression; Torrez said major tech firms should not be exempt from the law.
