Vladimir Putin says "ready to negotiate" about Ukraine war talks

Late Thursday on Russian state television, President Vladimir Putin expressed willingness to enter negotiations aimed at resolving the war, while cautioning that Russia would still achieve its objectives should no agreement be reached. The remarks came as Kyiv and Moscow signaled they would return to Washington-mediated talks and back a humanitarian mission led by First Lady Melania Trump, including a local ceasefire in Kherson to deliver aid. A Kremlin spokesperson said the next round could be held in Abu Dhabi around mid-November. Disagreements over land and security assurances remain, and shortly after Putin voiced support for restarting talks, Russia launched a deadly missile and drone attack on Kyiv.
