Donald Trump recently posted a lengthy social media message criticizing comedian Bill Maher, following an interview Maher conducted with former Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. Trump, who had previously dined with Maher at the White House on two occasions, described Maher's HBO program as low-rated and alleged that Maher had persistently sought to appear on it. Trump's comments came after Maher reportedly stated Trump's approval ratings were low and that he was losing support within the Republican Party. Trump countered these claims with his own reported high ratings and strong Republican backing.
