Trump warns Democratic wins mean "communists in control of the U.S."

With Election Day days away, President Donald Trump is moving from live campaign appearances to nearly 20 phone-based rallies organized by the Republican National Committee, after planned events in Kansas and Iowa were scrapped. Trump rejected the idea that health or travel fatigue prompted the switch, saying GOP candidates in those states are faring well. At a Thursday South Carolina event with Sen. Darline Graham, he asked backers to make the midterms about him and said Democratic success could damage his policy goals. He also contended that Democratic wins could place people who support communism in power in the country. The RNC said the closing virtual schedule will reach voters across the country.
