On November 3, Guam held its gubernatorial election, pitting Republican Tony Ada against Democrat Therese Terlaje as the incumbent Democrat Lou Leon Guerrero was barred from running again. After early results indicated Ada was ahead, former President Donald Trump posted on his Truth Social account, highlighting the surprising Republican win in a territory that usually leans Democratic and congratulating Ada. Trump also asserted that Republicans had secured control of Guam’s legislative chamber and suggested the outcome might foreshadow broader patterns as the United States approaches the November 3 midterm contests for Congress.
