Elon Musk says "the Cybertruck fleet will be around for a long time" as production winds down
“True, but the Cybertruck fleet will be around for a long time”

Elon Musk announced late Friday that Tesla will end Cybertruck manufacturing at Gigafactory Texas around mid-2027 and use that capacity for Cybercab robotaxi output. The pickup launched in 2019 and began reaching customers in late 2023; industry estimates put deliveries at 38,965 in 2024, 20,237 in 2025, and 11,586 through the first three quarters of 2026. Tesla has not said whether truck output will move to another plant or cease altogether. When a supporter described the decision as a significant ending, Musk replied that previously sold trucks would remain on the road for an extended period. The decision follows Tesla’s earlier halt of Model S and Model X production in California to make room for Optimus robots, part of its push toward automation.
