Donald Trump: "I have requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from…"

President Donald Trump said on Truth Social that he had extended the White House press secretary position to UFC President Dana White and pressed him to accept. Trump also said he wanted White to bring a group of MMA figures as assistants, naming Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes and Kayla Harris, and cast them as a way to push back against his political critics; he noted that some were not U.S. natives. It was unclear whether White would accept, and UFC was contacted for comment. Trump and White have been tied for decades, beginning when White first appeared as UFC president at one of Trump’s Atlantic City casinos in 2001. The press secretary office has been vacant since Katie Zacharia departed Oct. 16 after five days, the shortest tenure in the job’s history.
