Donald Trump says "defend us against the Lunatic Left" as he offers press secretary job to Dana White

On Saturday at his Florida golf club, President Donald Trump posted that he had offered the White House press secretary job to Dana White, the UFC head and a friend, and asked him to bring several UFC fighters as assistants to help defend against the political left. The White House did not respond to questions about the post. CNN reported that White declined; a UFC spokesperson did not immediately comment, and White was in London for a boxing event. The episode came during staffing changes after Republicans lost both chambers of Congress in Tuesday’s midterms and while the spokesperson post had been empty since late August, following a five-day tenure by a prior appointee.
