“build further on this momentum... to demonstrate that Ukraine’s supporters remain firmly committed to standing alongside the Ukrainian people, that there is absolutely no sign of fatigue, and that Russia cannot count on any such fatigue setting in”
On Monday, Paris will host a summit bringing together Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and about two dozen allied leaders from the Coalition of the Willing, a group launched by France and the UK after Russia’s full-scale invasion. The meeting aims to reaffirm military backing for Kyiv, push for a ceasefire, and renew peace negotiations, according to the French presidency. An adviser to French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the gathering seeks to build on recent positive battlefield developments and renewed transatlantic unity to show that Ukraine’s supporters remain fully committed, with no allied fatigue, and that Russia should not expect such fatigue to emerge. The summit occurs the day before France’s Bastille Day military parade, which will also highlight support for Ukraine. Separately, the US has signaled increased backing and recently advanced bipartisan legislation targeting nations that buy Russian energy.
