Elon Musk says critics "cannot cite a single name" of someone who died from USAID closure
“cannot cite a single name of someone who died out of the 'millions' they falsely claim have died. Not a single name!”
Elon Musk, who led the shutdown of the U.S. Agency for International Development while serving under President Trump, recently posted on X that critics cannot produce a single name of someone who died due to the agency's closure. In response, NPR identified specific children, including 10-year-old Abdullahi Ibrahim in Nigeria and 16-year-old Purity Wamboi in Kenya, whose families and health workers say their deaths followed the loss of USAID-funded care. The State Department did not address those individual cases but noted new bilateral health agreements with Nigeria and Kenya. An infectious-disease modeler estimates that over 700,000 people have died from the abrupt aid suspension.
