This threat comes one year after Trump claimed American airstrikes had completely erased all of Iran’s nuclear facilities — a statement that this untouched location, which analysts say lies too deep for US bunker-buster bombs to penetrate, now contradicts. Trump recently asserted that Iran will never acquire an atomic bomb and that its enriched uranium is stored so far underground that only the United States can reach it. The site, suspected of housing undeclared enrichment capabilities, was not hit in last year’s strikes and has since accelerated construction.
