Zelensky says "Russian strikes on our civilian infrastructure" prompted Ukrainian drone retaliation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky characterized fresh Ukrainian drone operations against Russian targets as retaliation for ongoing attacks on non-military sites, after Moscow launched a large volley of ballistic missiles and drones at the capital Kyiv, killing one person and wounding at least 14. The Ukrainian military reported intercepting 18 of 41 missiles and 108 drones, while Kyiv’s mayor confirmed damage to homes, a supermarket, and a dormitory. In the same period, Ukraine struck two Russian oil tankers in the Black Sea and hit a Caspian Pipeline terminal, causing no spills or injuries, and a drone attack ignited a fire at an industrial park in Russia’s Stavropol region. Officials said the overnight barrage included Iskander and hypersonic Zircon missiles alongside 125 drones.
