Warren Buffett says "You are not required to file information" about 2026 ethics report deadline
“You are not required to file information on your Annual Report for 2026 with [the U.S. Office of Government Ethics] until May 15, 2027.”
Senator Elizabeth Warren wrote to President Donald Trump, pointing out that his most recent financial disclosure reported over $1.4 billion in earnings from crypto-related ventures but does not reflect any changes in recent months. She noted that Trump is not obligated to submit his 2026 annual report to the U.S. Office of Government Ethics until May 2027, and asked him to voluntarily provide a supplemental disclosure for the first half of 2026. Warren said this would give Congress the information it needs to address government ethics concerns. Her request comes as lawmakers debate the proposed Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which currently lacks a bipartisan agreement on an ethics provision that would prevent senior officials from profiting from their own crypto holdings.
