Elon Musk has publicly criticized director Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of *The Odyssey*, citing disapproval of casting choices—particularly Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy. The tech billionaire shared on X that he plans to use his Grok AI tool to produce an alternative version of the epic before year’s end, and expressed openness to funding a separate, historically precise adaptation directed by Mel Gibson. Musk’s earlier January remark calling Nolan’s integrity into question was made in response to an online post that labeled the film an insult to Homer. Despite this criticism, Nolan’s R-rated, three-hour film opened strongly, reportedly earning $120 million in its first weekend, exceeding projections.
