Donald Trump: "Republicans must fight back!"

A group of Senate Democrats, led by Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, held a planning session in Hunt Valley, Maryland, this week to coordinate responses to President Donald Trump’s actions ahead of the November midterm elections. The lawmakers and election specialists discussed how to counter what they described as White House efforts to influence the electoral process. Trump, though recently less vocal, has for months pressed state governments to redraw congressional districts in ways that benefit Republican candidates, arguing his party is owed additional seats in Congress. Republicans currently hold a narrow majority in the House, but forecasts suggest they could lose ground in several races this fall. In a post on Truth Social late last year, as some GOP-led states considered reducing Democratic representation, Trump wrote that the majority must be preserved at any cost and urged Republicans to resist.
