Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in a Saturday evening video address, raised alarms about Moscow’s efforts to have North Korea dispatch roughly 30,000 additional soldiers to aid Russia’s invasion, with preparations reportedly underway since June in the Voronezh region. He also stated that Pyongyang may supply extra ballistic missile launchers. Zelensky warned that beyond the immediate threat to Ukraine, Russia is reportedly instructing North Korea in modern warfare techniques, upgrading its weaponry, and providing real battlefield experience with those arms. This, he said, endangers all Asian nations within reach of North Korean missiles. His comments came amid reports of deadly Russian strikes across Ukrainian regions, including Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, and elsewhere, killing at least eight people over the past day.
