Sergey Lavrov says "put an end to such adventures by the Kyiv regime" after attack on Iran ship

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, during a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi, expressed condolences over the death of a sailor in what Iran described as a Ukrainian attack on an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea. Lavrov’s statement, published by Russia’s foreign ministry, emphasized the need to stop what he called the Kyiv regime’s risky actions. Araqchi had called the incident “unanswered” and also discussed ongoing diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions in the Middle East with Lavrov and EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas. The attack reportedly caused an explosion that killed one crew member and injured another; the vessel had departed from Russia’s Astrakhan region.
