Elon Musk says "landing and remaining stable" on the Moon is simpler than on Earth

Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, responded on X to a user who argued that improvements to the Starship rocket’s structure and weight distribution had eliminated the danger of it toppling over on the uneven lunar surface. Musk stated that setting down and staying upright on any part of the Moon is simpler than doing so on Earth because the Moon lacks wind. His remark came shortly after SpaceX’s 13th Starship test flight, which the company said successfully placed 20 Starlink V3 satellites in orbit and then guided itself to a planned splashdown in the Indian Ocean. Musk also noted that the flight intentionally used greater acceleration to test heat shield tile adhesion under high pressure, calling the trial a success.
