JD Vance: "would not be on the Supreme Court"

Vice President JD Vance, speaking at memorial services Tuesday for the late Sen. Lindsey Graham in Washington, credited the South Carolina Republican with making Brett Kavanaugh’s seat on the Supreme Court possible through his vigorous support during the justice’s confirmation hearings. Graham died suddenly July 11 at age 71; services at the Capitol and Washington National Cathedral drew President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and numerous lawmakers. Vance also noted his own disagreements with Graham over Ukraine aid, but praised the senator’s legacy. The funeral highlighted Graham’s decadeslong career as a dealmaker and his recent push to win Trump’s backing for Russia sanctions legislation, which senators planned to vote on in his honor.
